Rural Health – Part 2: Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining a Strong Rural Health Workforce

Rural communities face a particular set of health inequities that are not as common in urban areas, largely because of how structural urbanism and the mental health and recovery services workforce shortage affects rural health service delivery. To advance health equity among under-served rural communities, it is important to recognize social determinants that shape rural health outcomes and consider evidence-based solutions to improve rural health care. Join the Center of Excellence for Integrated Health Solutions and rural health experts for a two-part webinar series that will explore challenges and opportunities to improve rural mental health care and recovery services. During the second webinar, participants will hear from a rural health provider about the mental health and recovery services workforce shortage in rural communities, strategies for increasing this workforce – and for supporting wellness and training needs of rural health staff – and also, success stories of rural health workforce opportunities.
