Helping to Promote the Health, Independence and Quality of Life of People with Mental Illness

The Maryland Employment Network presents: ABLE accounts can help enhance quality of life by targeting barriers to economic stability experienced by people with mental illness as it offers qualifying individuals a method to save and invest personal funds without losing vital means tested benefits such as SSI, Medicaid, HUD, food stamps and energy assistance. Attendees will learn an overview of ABLE programs nationwide, the specific features and benefits of Maryland ABLE accounts, the process to establish and manage an ABLE account, and strategies to use ABLE accounts to promote the economic power of people with mental illness.
